Cruise control might be disconnected--bring back and have company check the connections and wiring -- if any problem with brake system no cruise will not work --also if booster has a problem like vacuum leak will cause problems like running rough and shifting

Certainly there is a connection between the brake and the cruise control as applying the footbrake would cancel or pause the cruise control. I am not sure about the speedo though.

Your description suggests there is something deeper going on due to the lurching and you should take the vehicle back to the repairer that replaced the booster and complain bitterly.

Check the Speed Sensor wires on top of the rear differentual just above the connector. The brake cable tends to rub against those wires and can wear through the insulation causing the an improper signal to be sent from the sensor. If this appears to be the problem, I have found other posts that say to get a 2 pin replacement connector ($22) from the dealer and solder new connector in place. Insulate well and zip tie up the brake cable to prevent future problems.

You might have a bad brake light switch located at the top of the brake pedal, there's also a cruise control switch mounted next to the brake light switch.

SOURCE: hesitation in acceleration on my 92 audi 80 quatto

Run the car fo a while. Turn it off and wait about 30 seconds. Pull the hose off the booster. You will hear a loud rush of air entering the booster to fill the void. If not the booster is leaking. It will also cause all sorts of idle and off-idle acceleration problems. Did you check the hose from the engine to the booster? Was there a chack valve in the line too?

SOURCE: My brake pedal is going all the way to the floor.

You need to bleed the brakes. Look at the brake assembly there should be a little nub with a bolt at the base of it. It takes two people to bleed a brake and you only do them one at a time. Have someone sit in the truck and when you loosen the bleeder nut (little nub with the bolt) have the other person push the brake pedal to the floor. Repeat until no more air bubbles come out. Do this to all of the brakes individually. It is safe to reuse the fluid. Don't let the brake fluid level fall to low or more air will be sucked into the lines.

maybe the vacuum booster behind the master cylinder. is the vacuum hose hooked up to it?? it could be leaking internally. you need a vacuum pump to test it though.

Does brake light switch affect cruise control?

Yes. The brake light switch has to be in good condition because it is one way to disable the cruise when driving.

BRAKE LIGHT ON , BKAKES SOFT FADE. i THOUGHT REPLACING PADS AND ROTERS, BLEED ENTIRE SYSTEM. PROBLEM STILL EXIST. I'AM THINKING BOOSTER WHAT DO YOU THINK.

Brake pads, rotors, and boosters do not cause brakes to fade. They also do not cause the light to come on. Hydraulic leaks cause brakes to fade and also the light to come on. Check all of your brake lines and fittings for leaks. Check also the calipers and/or wheel cyliders for leakage. If you cannot find any external leaks and you are not losing any brake fluid, then the problem is caused by an internal leak in the master cylinder or (if you vehice is equipped with antilock brakes) the antilock control module

Idel goes up wen pumping brake padel.

You have a vacuum leak in the brake booster. Whenever you push it in, a vacuum leak is introduced. Causing the engine to idle higher. Changing the brake booster will cure the problem.
